What is the Difference Between hCG and HGH?

HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) and HGH (human growth hormone) are two types of hormones that have become increasing popular within the health and fitness circuits. Each are naturally produced by the human body however, they greatly differ in their functions.

HCG is the hormone women produce in the early stages of pregnancy, immediately following conception. This production usually takes place approximately 11 days after conception.  According to the American Pregnancy Association, hCG production continues to occur throughout the pregnancy, with its highest levels being between weeks 8 and 11; levels of hCG begin to peter out throughout the remainder of the pregnancy and eventually dissipate.

The purpose of hCG in pregnant mothers is to help nourish and sustain the developing embryo. HCG fortifies the inner walls of the womb. This helps protect the unborn baby.  Other uses of the HCG  hormone in pregnancies include adjusting the metabolism, so that its easier for pregnant mothers to provide adequate nourishment  of the their babies, and reducing the levels of food cravings.

When taken as a dietary supplement, e.g. as supplement to the HCG Diet, the hormone sends signals to the hypothalamus of the brain to breakdown body fat and convert it to fuel to use as the body’s main source of energy. This makes weight loss fast and serious HCG diet side effects are easily prevented since dieters are well provided with energy. The body systems remain efficient.

HGH (human growth hormone) is a hormone the body also produces naturally however, this occurs when we are younger; production slowly decreases as we begin to age. HGH is secreted through the pituitary gland of the brain, in which fuels childhood growth and development; it helps to maintain healthy tissues and organs. Scientific studies relate the loss of HGH to our aging metabolic slowdown and weight gain.

HGH is known to stimulate an increase in muscle mass while also reducing body fat. Factors that help to stimulate HGH without supplementation are sleep, exercise, and dietary protein. Oftentimes, similar to hCG, when supplementing HGH into your diet, there is no presence of the hormone unless taken by injections.

In short, hCG as a dietary supplement, is used to attack fat deposits and convert to fuel for the body. HGH as a dietary supplement is used to breakdown fat and convert it to lean muscle mass.

Therefore, each hormone clearly serves their own distinct functions and there are many controversial claims and studies relating to their known impact on reversing the aging process and supporting health and well-being. HCH are often used for body builders while the HCG hormone is one of the important components of the HCG weight loss program

Many athletes have been banned from their sports due to testing positive for the presence of each hormone. Each should be used and taken with extreme caution and after conducting thorough research. Supplementing diets with these hormones fall victim of many controversial claims, yet proponents of each state that they provide body-altering results and help to support a life of longevity and well-being.
